Finally, the Flonase was gone and the epipen expired, so it was time to make my move. I picked a doctor and went to my appointment with some apprehension, I was getting old enough to know that the doctor was bound to find something amiss with my physical state.
I certainly knew that I would get chided about my weight. Since I went back to work 20 pounds managed to creep up on me. Oh, the shame of it all...
Then I get the news that my blood pressure is higher than it should be. It is just borderline, the doctor says, but now I have to return in 6 months to monitor it to make sure it is not trending upwards. Ugh, I am not liking this at all...
I went for the requisite blood tests this morning. What will they lead to, high cholesterol, high sugar, or both ? Updates will follow...
One thing that I do know is that I don't want to start on medications for any of this, so this must be my wake up call. Excess weight, you need to be gone. Portions, you need to be downsized. Food choices, you need to be smarter. Mindless munching, hit the road.
My goal is to be 10 pounds lighter by my next doctor visit. Come along with me on the journey.
